    EXPERT TIPS

    When applying Timbercote it is advised to use multiple thin coats rather than a few thick ones; expect to use almost an equal quantity of
    Thinner #45 (including cleaning up at the end of the day). The first two coats should require only half a day’s drying with a light sand between
    coats. After that, allow a full day between coats and only very light flour paper (and only if required).

    PRODUCT USES

    • Can be applied to teak after strict de-oiling
    • Upgrading existing sound varnish finishes
    • Interior and exterior
    • Exterior beautification and protection of most timbers
    • Can be applied over timber, sealed with Altex Epoxy Timber Sealer

    APPLICATION INFORMATION

    • A Minimum of 5 coats is recommended for exterior exposure
    • Is formulated to be applied at 30-40 microns dry
    • Recommended that Timbercote be thinned up to 40% by volume with Altex Thinning Solvent #45 when used as a priming and sealing coat
    • Theoretical coverage is 14.8m² per litre 30-40 microns dry, do not over build
    • To accelerate cure and increase the hardness of the film, add Altex Regatta 2K Additive (refer product data sheet)
