Resene Qristal Clear is a range of durable single-pack polyurethanes designed for ease of application and maximum flow. Key Features:
Finish: High-gloss, 'wet look' effect.
Durability: Extremely hard finish suitable for high-traffic areas.
Application: Best applied over Resene Poly-Flat or Resene Poly-Satin.
Typical Uses:
Architraves
Desks
Doors
Furniture
Panelling
Plywood
Skirtings
Timber
Veneers
Performance:
Excellent intercoat adhesion both initially and long-term.
Resistant to alcohol, vinegar, and most food substances.
Suitable for use over Resene Waterborne Colorwood natural wood stain.
Limitations:
Not recommended for exterior use.
Fibre and particle board must be sealed with Resene Aquaclear before application.
Application Instructions:
Preparation: Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust. Sand surfaces to remove gloss and provide a key for adhesion.
Priming: Apply one coat of Resene Aquaclear Gloss to bare Totara or Matai. For bare fibre or particle boards, apply one coat of Resene Aquaclear. Allow 16 hours before recoating.
Application: Apply one full coat of Resene Poly-Flat or Poly-Satin to bare timber, laying off in the direction of the grain. Allow 12 hours to dry. Apply subsequent coats of Resene Poly-Flat, Poly-Satin, or Poly-Gloss, allowing 12 hours between coats. Lightly sand between coats with fine sandpaper. Apply the final coat as desired.
Curing: Maintain good ventilation during the drying and curing period to ensure proper curing. Avoid using gas or diesel burners to heat the coated area, as these produce water that can inhibit drying.
Coverage: Approximately 16 square meters per liter per coat.
Dry Time: Minimum of 4 hours. Drying is slowed by low temperatures and high humidity. Do not apply under damp conditions.
Recoat Time: Minimum of 12 hours.
Primer Required: Dependent on surface.
Usual Number of Coats: Three.
